Crafting this sculpture from Australian Red Cedar marked my return to wood carving. The old stump, discovered on a property in Taree, was a poignant reminder of the once-magnificent Red Cedar forests that spanned the Australian East Coast. 

Working with the Red Cedar brought solace, its soft yet resilient nature echoing the enduring spirit of Australia's heartland. The rich colors and warm tones of the wood whisper the stories of the land, inviting reflection on the beauty and fragility of our natural heritage.
