Margaret Sheridan is an acclaimed Australian sculptor specialising in stone, marble and wood .

Her practice is one in conversation with each material she works with, allowing the essence and compositional qualities to lead a process of uncovering and transformation, giving form through pneumatic carving skills developed during a residency in Pietrasanta,  Tuscany 1998.

Margaret's stone carvings can be seen cast in bronze, as well as bronze sculptures cast from freehand modeling. Trained under renowned sculptor Mitzi McColl, Margaret's sculptures engage in a dialogue with materiality itself, revealing the elusive "spaces between" form and essence.

Margaret's award-winning work has garnered Australian and global collectors, often exhibited nationally at Maquarie Sculpture Park. In 2025 she looks forward to her second term as President of the Australian Sculptors Society.

Her work is currently on view at the Giardini Marinaressa or via appointment at her Sydney studio.

Margaret Sheridan respectfully acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of the land which she lives and works, the Camaraigal peoples of the Eora Nation. She offers her respects to their Elders past, present and becoming.
