Originally carved in sandstone, the sensuous curves and contours were given new life a year ago when I made the decision to cast them in bronze.
Bronze, a metal inherently strong yet capable of radiant beauty in its original casting, serves as the perfect medium for this piece. Through the transformative process of patination, it takes on entirely new perceptual experiences, each variation offering a distinct and captivating interpretation.
The choice of blue was not arbitrary; it is a colour deeply associated with freedom, intuitiveness, trust, loyalty, sincerity, and confidence – qualities that I wish to imbue within everyone who encounters this work. My intention is for them to honour and embrace their intrinsic selves with sincerity, feeling a profound sense of liberation to simply be.
